What about faking the rocket toss....and runnning everything else just like the old counter boot pass. FB already going away to the flats....drag backside wing. Coulod pull a guard to lead QB or run it naked. Seeing how deadly that toss can be I would think it would be a good play

An important part of Wofford College's Rocket series for exactly the reasons you mention.

We have been running Waggle for years. Great play.

In the past we have run the "waggle" off of our counter lead (cross buck in the old wish bone) It never occured to me to run it off of the rocket action, which we are already using more and more often. Thats what I love about this (and Huey's) site. I am very concerned about the fact that the "passing game" thread is the largest on the site. I thought this was an option site? ? What ever happened to the old saying "only 3 things can happen when you throw and 2 of them are bad"

Our "Rocket Boot" is one of our best plays. It helps slow down teams that fly to motion.

what are your routes for your rocket boot?

what are your routes for your rocket boot? Coach: I have the single receiver backside run a Post-Corner route with a fairly extensive Post fake to convince the secondary that the ball is headed in the same direction as Rocket motion. The #1 frontside runs a Go route, #2 a Shallow Cross, and the single back a Flat route underneath the Post-Corner to the backside. And bkoption -- surely thirtysome posts on the passing game, collected together in one thread, on a board with over 1,200 posts on it, is acceptable? ;D ;D

I don't run flexbone anymore, we are gun option now, but out of the gun we go empty
...........Y..................T..G..C..G..T......................X ................H.....F.....................................S .......................................Q
Send H into rocket motion and on fake rocket toss right, while S does a deep post, X does a drag, F runs a speed out, Y runs a go, and the H will wheel up the sideline. The flow to rocket does 2 things, gets pass defenders out of position and the post or backside go route is wide open, or if they jump it, they forget about the H who got the fake toss and now running the wheel. You could easily adapt some of that to the flexbone IMO. This has been a big money play for us in the past few years.
