We switched to the Flexbone this fall and had success. However, next season we only have one true stud @ RB and that is our FB. We have some undersized guys @ wings, as well as a few back-up FB's who could play wing. Having our FB be our main weapon is fine but I was hoping to give him a play or two where he had a lead blocker. Does anyone have plays where the FB has a lead blocker? Power type play or Iso. We already run a ton of speed op w/him, but I am very tempted to back him up a little and find a way to get him the ball almost like a TB in the I.

We used to run a Belly to the FB and utilize counter motion to get the RB in position to lead block.
PSRB - begins to go in regular orbit motion to his left, at the snap the RB plants and leads through the playside B gap or on to the PSLB. FB - takes a 6 inch lateral step with his playside foot, crosses over and goes to his landmark (the tail of the PSG) he reads the PSG's block QB - reverse out, hand off to FB, continue with option fake BSRB - pitch path after the snap PS OL - Base blocking (man on, no doubles or combos) but I guess you could combo down if you have a TE or even ZONE. Don't know if you're still looking into this but we also run a belly lead off of our Speed toss action....... Playside wing comes inside and gets basically a down block on the BS-ILB, this usually happens b/c the PS-ILB is flowing hard to stop our speed toss action, as is the PS-DE making a base out block by our OT much easier....... we have also turned this play into one of our better options plays by veer blocking the open side (usually we see a shade) running a wider inside veer with a double option read. This worked extremely well b/c most OLB's flow so hard to avoid our crack/wrap or Arc block on the speed toss that it takes him completely out of the play as a late fold guy on keep allowing our PS slot to block LB to Safety. Upon getting really good at this we hope on having a late downfield pitch player by having the PS Slot instead slow play himself into a pitch ratio w/ the QB and pitch off an edge player! But in answering your FB Iso ? the Belly with an inside release by the Playside slot is a very effective play if you can get good at speed toss
