Coaches I am looking for some ideas to change or Thursday routine. Currently we use Thursday as walk through for everything. ALL special teams/situations as well as Offense and defense team periods. We practice full pads but it is only a thud practice.
As a staff we are looking at adding doing away with the full team sessions and adding periods of group work then smaller period of team fro each side of the ball.
what do you guys do. are you a full walk through team or do you do something like we are looking at.

We usually go full pads. Late in the season we might go 1/2 shell. We run through everything. Special teams - Team O & D We sort of "thud", we run everything full speed but we don't (usually) bring anyone to the ground. We like to set the intensity level for the game and with our boys if they don't go full speed they tend to get into bad habits. It's usually a short practice 3:30 - 5:00/5:15
