I don't have any real good materials but I did run it a bit last season. It didn't work well for us, we had trouble timing up the snap and exchange... But we didn't spend enough time on it.

there is a good article about running jet in the gun on jetsweep.com I'm thinking about going to some gun this year and there is a video clip of running rocket from the gun - it is a helpful resource

How do you guys feel about the difference in the depth of the running back (getting the ball) in gun versus under center? Better or Worse?

Coach I can only speak from our flexbone off from under the center, with the slot in motion getting to the outside as quick as possible after receiving the pitch in c gap or behind a te. The only problem we had was the olb coming up hard and forcing our back to cut back or a porr stalk bloch, hook block , drive block by our playside slot.
Great play to get on the edge.Back should run through the fb's heels and get the ball about 5 yards deep from the l.o.s. and run to the sidelines

Jet from the gun is an excellent play, and I feel it can get downhill quicker due to the depth of the handoff. We've run it with large success and now even have a read triple option off of it. I don't think it hits quite as fast as the rocket, but it is a very, very good play.
