We are trying to implement a base option package this season : midline and outside veer out of the Pro-I formation. This mirrors what our varisty runs. We are middle school program.
What is the best option package and compliments against a 5-3 defense? We typically see Strong Shade-4i-9 techniques to the tight end side and 3 and 5 techniques to the open side. The three linebackers are 40 (weak)-00 (middle)-70 (strong).
Thanks for the help.

Coach we had very good success when we got in our Pro set and flexed the TE when running the outside veer. They moved the DE out over our TE and then had the OLB go inside. We just had the TE come down on the OLB and read the DE. Hope this helps.

If it were me, I would just stick to Midline on either side. You can vary it up between Midline Iso and Triple if you would like. That would keep them guessing, and if your HS runs some sort of Triple, then it will be good practice for the future
