What ideas do you guys have on how to control the x-stunt from the 4-4? The problem: running ISV when they have the stunt called, QB gets the give read. Any ideas on what the QB could do?

IV play action dump pass has worked for us in the past. PSSB started arch steps then turned up to find the void from the OLB.

I should have been a little more clear. My question is when you are running ISV, is there anything we can teach the QB so he can defeat this stunt.

We use the term and tech. of pitching off the stack.Pull and pitch. Who is on pitch? If they were going to do this to us the olb would have to be tighter in this diagram shown he would not get to the fullback. If we see them stack then we talk pitch off the stack.

Bobbyd- Are then reading the stack backer? if he comes it is an auto pitch b/c the end is taking QB? so the pitch man should come clean.

Tiger Pride what program did you use to make the diagram on your post? I'd like to be able to do that but can't get Playmaker Pro 4.0 to paste to a message.

rebel, yes that is correct. We only do this if they are stacked. We practice this but dont see it to often. One thing we have done against this look is seal the stacked backer with near hb. If the olb goes to qb he gets sealed the qb runs free. They are giving us leveage by bringing him inside so far.

I TEACH THE SLOTBACKS WHEN THEY SEE A STACK LIKE THAT WHERE THE #1 AND #2 READ ARE STACKED OR ON THE LINE TOGETHER THEY CALL OUT "DYNAMITE" THIS TELLS THE QB TO EXPECT SOME TYPE OF OPTION STUNT. I TELL THE QB'S TO "AREA READ" IT. THIS TELLS HIM TO READ THE AREA BETWEEN THE #1 AND #2 READS. BY DOING THAT HE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE BOTH PLAYERS AND SEE WHO IS TAKING THE DIVE AND WHO IS TAKING THE PITCH.

I have Playmaker Pro 4.1 but the version doesn't matter. What you need to do with your play is copy it from Playmaker and paste it into a paint program (I use a Mac) After its in the paint program you need to go to "SAVE AS" and save it as a jpeg file (I need to type .JPG after the file to get mine to work) and then up load the picture to one of the websites that does it for free(I use "putfile") Once its in Putfile I copy the "BB" link that they give me and paste that into the message board.

We work on option stunts all year long espically wioth the young guys. all year long. after weights in the offseason i make the kids do mesh drill for 15 minutes. i rep it so much. it gets carved in their head.
Then my other solution is try to out formation them to where they can't option stunt us. or i will run a zone dive wedge block iwith the o-line.
ROCKET TOSS !!!!! til the cows come home!
