What are QB - Pitch rules for Linebackers and Safety's. We run a 3-3 stack odd front, But I am looking for general rules. Both inside and outside veer.

Hi Coach, Generally speaking these are our base rules. Midline- Read Key-First man on the LOS outside A gap Inside Veer- Read Key, First man on the LOS outside B gap-Pitchman is next defender outside. Outside Veer- Read key, First man on the LOS outside C gap-Pitchman is next defender outside.

If the TE down blocks do you teach over the top or squeeze under and attack? vs veer our LBs get stuck in no mans land

The teams that can get the plsd LB over the top while the 9 squeezes down hard are the one that frustrate us the most. The fast flow LB forces the TE off the dbl team sooner then we want. We end up not getting the movement on the 5. The same scheme from in even front has given us problem's as when run IV to an open side. The 5 comes down, 3 stays big, and the plsd stack LB flys out. If we can't get midline rolling a little bit this will cause problems.
A couple of years ago we started to coach our FB to bend underneath wide 3's and wide 5's.
