Anyone have some good drills for teaching the WR's and SB's how to stalk block.

I tell my guys you dont block -you dont play and I hold them to it. In practice we do a lot of fit and angle - we do a lot of push crack technique so we dont get a lot of live looks. Another gripe - any drill we run the defense has the advantage - so our less aggressive kids back down right away. We do a run/pass drill to keep them honest but I could use any suggestions also.

We send our WR's to work with the O-line on pass protection since that is basically what we want them to do with their stalk block on the DB. They've got to set and just stay with the defender and keep him occupied.

I adapted the ABCD approach from the University of Nebraska, Ron Brown I beleive.
Short version for WR:
A= Alignment is the man on me a hard corner (inside of 5 yards) or soft (outside of 5) vs. hard corner you need to be prepared to cut off quick force vs. Soft Corner push vertical and threaten him deep until you are within 3 yards then stalk yhour prey
B=Bead where is my target? Vs hard corner you need to get on his inside number and dig him out. If the hard corner bails then push him vertical. Soft corners will typically be coached not to let anyone outside them so threaten their technique and try to widen them from their inside support.
C=Contact Once we have stalked our prey hit him hard. Good solid rising blow with heels of the hand into the breastplate of the shoulder pads work for leverage but be sure to carry your own weight. If you bounce off get back into position and strike again.
D=Drive Here is the key to avoiding a holding penalty. Drive the SOB back and put him on the ground!! or take him where he wants to go, thereby giving the RB a definite cut. Most RB cannot handle a 2 way go.
Like i said this is the short version written by a tired father of a sick 2 year old with a 5 month pregnant wife!!
I have a manual I have used inthe past with all this stuff in it and i would be happy to share just let me know

Thanks for the information. It was helpful to me. Did he put in any specific drills in his manual to help improve stalk blocking?

It was actually a video by ron brown "Dominate the perimeter:blocking and catching skills development for receivers.
He showed lots of good stuff.
For me drilling always takes place without shields, unless we are cracking which is never done live in a drill period.
I hate trying to teach the proper fit and drive with shields because they move around and some players like to use them as weapons!
Early on we teach the fit, then fit and drive, and generally work bacwards from there but i am going to look at it again this year and probably change a few things.
