Has anyone ran Triple from the offset I? What were the results? Was the mesh with the fullback a problem? I've never seen it, and it was just a random thought.

Hi Coach, Are you asking if you can run triple with the FB from 2 different positions. We always wanted to mesh from one mesh point. When we change the FB position on triple our mesh gets alittle slow. If you want to run triple form the offset I then you may only want to run triple out of the offset I. Now, some teams can do it from both positions. We just never could.

I would also be hesitant to change the mesh point. It could lead to a lot of problems and greatly increase the reps you need to get down the steps / mesh.

by changing the mesh point it takes twice as much teaching of the mesh.

Coach, Slow to us means slow reads for the QB and FB not running at full speed. Slow is bad for a couple of reasons. It allows defenders to play both dive/keep or keep/pitch. It also means our QB reads percent is lower then it should be.

I'll offer one positive angle. You might be able to use the offset fullback to marry the Split back Outside Veer with the regular I Form stuff you might run. I'm just thinking that would help a bunch against a team that is running an under front and giving you fits. I do agree with other guys on here, that it will probably slow you're guys down a tad, but if you practice it enough you should be good.
